Councillor for Drybrook and Lydbrook and Deputy Leader of Reform UK Gloucestershire, bringing financial discipline and commercial experience to local government.
A Gloucestershire County Councillor and Deputy Leader of Reform UK Gloucestershire, I bring more than two decades of senior financial and commercial experience to public service.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and am a longstanding ACCA Affiliate. My career has spanned banking at Lloyds Banking Group, aerospace at GKN, renewable energy, and global manufacturing. That experience gives me a clear and practical understanding of how budgets are spent, how value is measured, and where waste creeps in.
On the Council I serve as Vice Chair of the Gloucestershire Economic Strategy Scrutiny Committee and sit on the Council’s Pension Board, roles where that financial background informs how public funds are stewarded and how the county’s economic strategy is shaped.
I also sit on the Council’s Task and Finish Group on Community Energy, which is developing a Community Energy Plan of Action for the county, due in early 2027. It is work that draws directly on my experience in the renewable energy sector.
I live on Ruardean Hill in the Forest of Dean.
Out and about across the Forest of Dean and beyond, from local civic occasions to the wider political stage.
Two councils serve the Forest of Dean. Knowing which one handles your issue gets it resolved more quickly. Reporting a problem through the official online tools logs it on the system, sends it to the right team, and lets you track progress, which is often faster than email.
Roads and pavements, potholes, street lighting, drainage, schools, adult and children’s social care, libraries, and rights of way.
A pothole deeper than 75mm, or any immediate danger on the road, should be reported to the urgent line above rather than online.
Bin and recycling collections, fly-tipping, planning and building control, council tax and benefits, housing, environmental health, and abandoned vehicles.
Not sure which council? Report it to either and they will redirect it, but the lists above will usually point you the right way.
If you have raised something with the council and it has stalled, or it concerns a matter for Drybrook and Lydbrook, do contact me directly using the addresses below and I will follow it up on your behalf. You are also welcome at my monthly surgery, details below.
I hold a surgery for residents of the Drybrook and Lydbrook Division at the Drybrook Parish Community Support Hub, the Old Butcher’s Shop, Morse Lane, Drybrook, GL17 9EF, on the third Tuesday of every month, from 4.30pm until 6.30pm. Do come along to raise a concern, ask for help with a council matter, or simply share your views. No appointment is needed, though it is helpful to let me know in advance that you are coming, and the subject you would like to discuss, so I can be properly prepared.
There is no surgery in August or December. Remaining 2026 dates:
For dates in 2027 onwards, please get in touch.
I welcome enquiries from residents, journalists, fellow councillors, and professional contacts. Please use the appropriate address below.
For casework or council-service queries, the official channels in the section above are usually the fastest route, as they log your report and send it straight to the right department.
